Ketchikan

The day turned out to not rain.  We were expecting it to but the skies held up.  We shopped in port as this was our only day that we thought we might be able to shop.

It is a small town that reminds me of being in the mountains.  Huh we are in the mountains.  The evergreens come right up to the shoreline.  It is colder than it was in Vancouver and we are staying in the cabin more.  We went to the Barb-que and then realized that was a mistake.  It consisted of two tastless salads and clamari meatballs, salmon and little shrimp skewers.  Other than corn on the cob that was it.  If you wanted anything to drink you had to go downstairs to get your water.  No one was really there so it was obvious that it was too cold or the lack of a good menu kept people away.

We tried Sabatinis for breakfast and we were too early so they were closed.  Ended up in dining room.

Joe did a first was up by 5:30 and in the dining room at 6:30 AM to eat.  Anyone that knows him that was new for him!

At Sea-Day 2

We are at sea all day.  We had breakfast in Sabatinis today and I had the Eggs Benedict over potatoes and Joe had the Eggs Benedict.  Very good service there.

Scheduled a couples massage for us.  That was wonderful.  Joe signed us up for a fat burning class.  It was just as I thought--a regular infomercial to sell the fitness guys program.  At a tune of 100-150 a month for 6-12 months.  A lot of money for that.

Also did the lecturer on Alaska.  That was good.

I did the casino a little bit and found the slots to be so so.  A lot different than Vegas but I still won.Yeah!!
Went back to the room to find more fresh fruit and more canapes.

Tonight was formal night so we dressed up and had pictures taken at every place.  We also saw the Captain's CHAMPAGNE WATERFALL.

Evening after dinner Joe and I walked around the deck.  Very cold out there.

First day on ship-Sail a Way

We arrived at Canada Place by 11 AM and we were on the ship by 12 PM.  We went to our cabin and it was beautiful.  What a true upgrade this was.  Fresh flowers and fresh fruit basket.  A stocked bar. We proceeded to Horizon court and had lunch.  It was fair selection of foods.  Nothing to get excited about.

We went to the sail-a-way party on the Lido deck and it was a lot of fun.  I had a Mai Tai.  That was very good.

In our room when we got back there were 2 glasses of champagne and canapes awaiting us.  Hubby took movies galore and I did the camera shots as we left the harbour.

Ate dinner in the diningroom which was better than Horizon Court.

Vancouver Day 2

Took several hours of video.  Joe looks like a director doing his own film.  Instead of California Gold with Hewell Houser I am going to label it Vancouver Gold with Joe Lobeto!!!

He wore a bathrobe today and looked like something out of the god father!  We went to the indoor pool an hot tub at the Westin.  It is open till 11:00 which is nice.  We spent the whole day in Stanley Park.  Really pretty and a bargain.  Alot of trails to hike and gardens of flowers.  We watched the Celebrity Mercury and Holland American Statendam leave port and head out into the ocean.  So beautiful to see them head out over the sunset.  All I could think is that will be us tomorrow.

Vancouver Day 1

Westjet flight 1797 from LAX was good.  Airplane fairly new with the airplane tvs in the headrests.  The new airplane ear phones that Joe bought are excellent.  They worked great.  Airport in Vancouver is very pretty and their customs was a breeze.
Princess cruislines arranged for our transportation to the hotel and there were no hangups.  We took a taxi ride covered through Princess to the Westin Bayshore Hotel.  Room was not ready so we went to Cordova's to eat. A little pricey on the food out here.  Tax is around 11%.  Will no longer complain about ours!

Joe and I are trying to deal with what can he eat routine due to his diabetes now.  I am concerned because he keeps saying can I eat this and I think about what I can eat and figure if it is not processed sugars or syrups that will be a start.
